WASHINGTON DC DAY #2

I started my day having breakfast with education policy makers and the former Secretary of Education, Richard Riley. How cool is that to hug a former Secretary of Education? Pretty darn cool! Then I took a cab over to PBS headquarters and hung out with cool teachers that knew way more about technology then I do! I love learning!  Here are some highlights of the day...

The great thing about having dinner in DC is that you get to walk the "mall" on the way back to your hotel.  The bad thing... wearing heels is not a good idea! Ouch!  (In front of the capital building)
This is one of the most amazing buildings around. Not just because it's beautiful and old, but it's the Supreme Court House. Where decisions are made... and law is interpreted!

Washington Monument at sunset from the Capital Building.

Another king size bed!!!
And flat screen TV too!
Here I am at the Shakespeare Library!
They have a lot of stuff about Shakespeare here, obviously...
Indian dinner tonight. I put a little bit of everything on my plate and regretted only two things... the funky lemon mixture and lamb! (but it was too late, I had to eat the piece I had in my mouth... my mouth doesn't like lamb!)  No room service tonight!

Sounds like an awesome trip Jane! Have fun and keep learning :)
I talked to Christina yesterday and she metioned you two have gotten together lately. She said you were teaching summer school (or did I get that wrong?) Perhaps we can all meet for coffee before school starts for both of us again!

I'm writing you this comment as I eat yet ANOTHER juicy and sweet nectarine. Did Daniel accompany you on this trip? I don't think so, right, since he's in none of the photos. Did you end up sending him to Washington?

It's a good thing you went to D.C. so that I can see all the places I went and know what they are. Hahahah!

Yowzers on wearing heels while walking D.C. It was bad for me wearing flip flops that were rubbing my feet raw.

Oh cool! I went to the Supreme Court House and didn't know it. That's so awesome! - alright, Washington Monument. hahah I feel like such a dorkus not knowing any of these places.

Unlike other people, I like staying in hotels in king sized beds. Even though 60 minutes always does some crazy special on how they never change their linens and then I get all paranoid. But after I lay down, all that is forgotten. I just don't want to be using the same sheets that others have been doing questionable things on. oh no! don't worry! Your sheets are clean!

oooh, I love indian food, but I can only handle so much. That's a recipe for a long bathroom visit.

Continue to have a good time!

Oh silly me went to school was like, "hey, where's Jane? I have something for Daniel." and they were like...remember, she's gone. Doh!
