DINNER AND DAVEY LOPES...

I tagged along with the Fairfax County teacher group
and we had a nice dinner on the waterfront...
with no tax!

Then I discovered from Garth, a NYC teacher and Dodger fan,
that "my" Davey Lopes was back coaching the Phillies!
How could I have missed that?
Oh, now I remember, 7 year old distraction.
Tonight, it's me, 2 HD, flatscreens, and Davey Lopes!
-minus any distractions...

HOW TO MAKE GREEN SALSA...

Tonight we made salsa! It was for a class project in Ms. Dongon's class. We didn't have to make it until tomorrow, but mommy wanted something to take her mind off of the 6th inning, so we made it tonight. I think mommy is a good cooker, but she said that eggs over easy doesn't qualify you as a good cooker. It's not that she can't cook, it's that she chooses not to. Whatever that means... Here is what I put into my green salsa (I chose the green, mommy said it would be easier to make red, but who wants easy?) First you squeeze the lime.
We added some strange, green tomatoes that were wrapped in skin. Mommy said, it would have been easier to find red tomotoes and cheaper too! Who wants cheap?
Here I am chopping up the cilantro... Yes, chopping up the cilantro. Mommy knows, just don't say anything.
Next we peel some garlic. Mommy loves garlic, I am not sure what it is, but I can peel them.
Oh, here I am cutting the onions. Yes, cutting. Mommy knows and she doesn't want anyone to say anything...whatever that means.
To make spicy or not to make spicy? What the heck, we put two Jalepenos in the salsa. What's salsa without a little "kick" ?
I found a big seed inside the avocados! I wanted to plant them right then and there, but mommy said I had to finish the salsa first and that I should ask the real planting expert to help me... maybe tomorrow.
We added a little water.
This was the part I was waiting for... pushing the button on the mega blender. Mommy was happy that she finally used the VitaMix, her super-expensive (don't ask her how much she paid for it, her friend Ivonne knows because she was there when she bought it at the LA County fair years ago for a lotta money and only uses it once a year... maybe to make a smoothie or something like that) blender tonight.
And some salt and pepper... and a 1/2 teaspoon of cumin (that cost mommy $5.00 a bottle for 1/2 tsp!) and there you have it! Green salsa!

A DAY IN THE PARK...

We went to Griffith Park for a baby shower today!

I always seem to be stuck in the middle of two girls.
Ashley (L) is going to have a baby sister soon.
She was in mommy's class last year.

My first Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round ride!

DANCE WITH ME...

MID-WEEK SLEEP OVER...

Wednesday night with no school the next day...

HAPPY 3RD ANNIVERSARY LAI-EE & UNCLE STEVE!

Mommy doesn't have Lai-ee & Uncle Steve's wedding pictures on her new laptop, but she does have a picture of us from the wedding of Lai-ee and Uncle Steve three years ago today.  Don't my cousins and I look beautiful? It's one of mommy's favorite photos.  She says it makes me look "innocent."
Here is a picture of the happy couple (who wouldn't be happy with Uncle Steve? He cooks, bakes, and can catch all the crab and salmon you can eat!).  This was from last Christmas in Vegas... Uncle Wayne is in the picture too. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LAI-EE & UNCLE STEVE! We love you!

HAPPY 2ND ANNIVERSARY UNCLE WAYNE & AUNT VICKIE!

Don't they look nice at their wedding banquet?
Another picture of the happy couple...
... and at Uncle Wayne's big birthday this year!
Happy Anniversary! We love you both!

The New Library

The boy king in front of the new Alhambra Library.

Children's section looks really nice...

even nicer when little boys do their homework there!

SUN BEADS!

How cool is it to work next door to a Science Museum? Pretty darn cool! Dr. Gretchen comes to my class every month to conduct investigations with the students. This month it was observing sun beads! They change colors in the sun!
