Of all the wonderful foods in Chinatown, I choose to eat white rice for dim sum! YUM!
Okay, I am not keeping count, but I have learned that traveling with a seven year old in New York City is very different than traveling alone. Yes, it's common sense, but I still had hoped that once Daniel hit the city, he would become a different child. One that loves to try different foods, and see different things, and of course go shopping with his mommy. Well he does like to go shopping with mommy... as long as there is something in it for him; like Power Rangers, DS games, and red shoes! So my sense of adventure and travel has shifted. Today we dropped off Po in Chinatown with her "friends-relatives-other chinese "sisters" while we headed uptown for a bit.
We were in front of Macys ... note that I said in front of. Never went in, but we did manage to get some super cool, red, converse all-star shoes for the little king himself. He wore his Heeley's and they were making his feet a bit tired with all the walking I was "forcing"- yes, it's true! forcing him to do. Gee, California kids just don't know... We saw the Empire State Building and after seeing a long line outside the Empire State Building, I made an executive decision and decided not to subject myself to the consequences of what would happen if I actually made him wait in that line. You really don't want to go there!
So we took a break (requested by Daniel) and I caught up on postcards to students and report card comments, while he enjoyed PBS Kids. We are off soon to meet in Chinatown for dinner and I intend to sneak some "shopping"-quick shopping before then. Wish us luck! Ha ha ha...
