We have been running a few miles each week in class to complete a 26.2 mile marathon. Today was the last mile! It was great to see so many of my kids there and even though all of them couldn't make it, they all completed it and will get a tee-shirt.
Okay, so I made them do a "kiss your medal" pose. Emily refused to be seen kissing a medal.
Here are the teachers (and one soon to be husband) that took the time today to make a very happy memory for our kids! The irony of it all is that 2 of them got pink slips yesterday because our state doesn't know how to budget and overspent millions of dollars. Crazy times, but I am confident that they are not really going to be let go. Come on now, what's the justice in that for our students?
Daniel always seems to be surrounded by beautiful women and today was no different! That's his teacher (she organized the whole thing). Doesn't he have the cutiest teacher and she dances too!
I hadn't planned on walking the mile (Daniel didn't finish the 26.2 miles and still has some miles to go), but was swept up in the crowd and ended up walking it... wearing flip flops and an additional 28.2 pounds that wouldn't sit in his stroller! Thank goodness some of my great parents were there to help out.
