The Best Kool-Aid Playdough Recipe!

1 cup of flour
1/2 salt
3T oil
1-2 pkg. unsweetened kool-aid

1 cup of boiling water

Mix the flour and salt toget
her in one bowl. Mix the boiling water and kool-aid together, add the oil. Then blend all ingredients together. Mix and use hands to knead. Store in a ziploc baggie. Enjoy!

We are beginning our science unit with a focus on the inquiry skills. The focus for September has been using our five sense to observe. I found this recipe online and liked it because it looked similar to one I use to make years ago (cooked). Not sure how it would turn out... and I did not try it out ahead of time like what a good teacher should do. I listed and showed each ingredient and asked students what they thought we would make.

Cookies, cake, bananas, and ice cream were some of the responses. My favorite response came from Anthony, who commented "It can't be ice cream! There's no milk in it!"... well there aren't bananas either. I love kinder thoughts and reasoning! So creative. I doubled the recipe and the playdough came out great!
